Cannot get rid of a malware

I recently stated to get the following: when I do search using Safari (Google is my default), I get google for a second and then it is switched to Ask.com, I click the back button and have yahoo.com, etc. It is very annoying. My computer revealed a malware and I cleaned it. Now I only have ask.com, but I cannot delete it.

I see a strange process being active and I cannot find it in the system. It is called EarthwormJim1.

Any help, advice is appreciated. I need to get rid of that thing...

Hello Dashal,

We understand that your search engine is changing to ask.com unexpectedly. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

First, make sure your Mac is updated: How to update the software on your Mac, and you have followed the steps in About pop-up ads and windows in Safari

If you still have the issue. try running Malwarebytes for Mac

Let us know if that helps.
